Meaningful Objects: Olivia Lundquist ’26

Student Name: Olivia Lundquist
Major: Materials Science and Engineering and Environmental Studies
Hometown: Pennington, New Jersey

Object: Bethlehem marathon medals

As a student in the IDEAS program (Interdisciplinary Engineering, Arts and Sciences) Lundquist studied material science and engineering and environmental studies. Throughout her time at Lehigh, long distance running became a significant outlet and a way to explore the region while connecting with friends. Lundquist participated in a variety of local and regional races including the St. Luke’s half marathon, Bethlehem Running Festival, and the Philadelphia Hot Chocolate Run. She started collecting her medals on a hook in her room as keepsakes from the experiences and to remind herself that she is able to approach and overcome challenges.

Her advice to incoming students is: “Take advantage of every single opportunity that comes your way. So many opportunities came because I decided to take an extra step and apply for different programs. There were times that I wasn't successful, but I continued trying and was able to accomplish so much because of that.”

The Class of 2026 reflects on the keepsakes, memories and milestones that shaped their Lehigh experience. Through personal stories and meaningful objects, these Future Makers share moments of growth, discovery and connection. Read the stories behind the keepsakes, or view the expanded photo essay.
