Lehigh University is a highly respected and renowned institution in the United States. It is also an excellent destination for international students who wish to transfer from other schools. In this post, two international students who made the decision to transfer to Lehigh share their experiences.
Judy Wu transferred to Lehigh during her sophomore year. She is now a junior majoring in computer science. Wu said she was attracted to the quality of education at Lehigh and the smaller class sizes that allow for more personalized attention from professors, which she said has greatly benefited her academic development.
Additionally, she said, the course planning has been very reasonable. Although Wu said she experienced some frustration in the credit transfer process, she said her advisor has helped her plan her courses each semester, which has made her transfer experience easier.
Cici Zhang transferred to Lehigh in September 2022 and is now a sophomore student majoring in translation studies. Zhang said she always dreamed of studying abroad, but transferring from Hong Kong to a foreign country was a difficult process. However, Zhang persisted and found that Lehigh's transfer requirements were more relaxed and accommodating than those of other institutions.
Zhang said she was particularly impressed by the freedom to choose her own courses, as well as the small class sizes and the location of the university. After transferring to Lehigh, she said she found that her advisor, Beth Pelton, was very supportive, which made it easier for her to adapt to her new environment.
