Why did you choose to attend Lehigh? I chose Lehigh primarily because of the partnership we have with the United Nations. We were only the 6th university in the world that was recognized as an NGO by the UN and that speaks volumes about the kind of institution we are. Since attending Lehigh, I have gotten to represent the American Association of University Women at the UN, participate and help plan global conferences, do independent research, and visit the headquarters in New York City. It is one of the most unique experiences a student could get while in college and I couldn’t say no to that opportunity.
What is your favorite academic experience? My favorite academic experience at Lehigh has been taking the Management 301 course which is a capstone class every business student takes in their senior year. We all participate in a simulation where we’re assigned to teams that run “real businesses” and compete in a new software market. It was great to see everything that I’ve learned at Lehigh so far come to fruition and it’s shown me how much my Lehigh education has prepared me for the real world. It’s the most hands-on experience I’ve had in academia.
What is your favorite aspect about Lehigh? My favorite aspect about Lehigh are the networking opportunities. I truly believe that it would be practically impossible to graduate without a job offer if one is fully immersed in all Lehigh has to offer. At the business school, we have employers visiting us on most weeks and countless events to attend to meet alumni and network with companies within our fields. My peers were able to find adequate job opportunities even during the pandemic which goes to show how active the Lehigh community is.
