With widespread vaccination making the resumption of campus life possible, the “Getting Back to the Lehigh We Love” series highlights perspectives on what our community most looks forward to. Kyra Boston ’24, a civil engineering major, architecture studio minor and a Gryphon, shares.
I think for me, the most exciting part of returning to some form of normality is being able to travel more safely (although I know it is far from as safe as before the pandemic) and going on more significant trips where there are generally larger crowds—such as the beach or flying out to California with the reopening of Disneyland.
[I’m excited about] even day trips as small as being able to safely go to Hersheypark (I don't live very far from Hershey so my family always had season passes until last year) and not having to worry about wearing a mask on different roller coasters.
For vaccination and travel experiences more related to the university, being vaccinated will hopefully open up opportunities to more easily travel for Engineers Without Borders as we look to begin a new international project, which is something I am very excited about.
